Premier League Manager Sacked On Wednesday Night

Swansea City are hunting for the third manager in less than 12 months, as the club officials now have formally sacked Paul Clement.

The English gaffer was designated in the hopes of anchoring the Swans to top of the table following a miserable run of 10 defeats in 13 Premier League matches. But the higher-ups have lost their faith in the 45-year-old on grounds that he’s failing to direct a turnaround from the current plight.

Even though the latest sources claim an announcement regarding who’ll be appointed as the new coach will be made within 24 hours, it’s still uncertain as to who will take up the prestigious spot.

With a critical home match against Crystal Palace due on Saturday, Swansea hopes for electing a qualified personal soon enough before it causes any sorts of damage to the team.

Clement managed to keep the team up against the bars the previous season, although he was just elected in January, accumulating 29 points across 19 games to elevate the club away from the relegation zone.

Contract Offer Revealed: Huge Marco Asensio To Manchester United Update

Contract Offer Revealed: Huge Marco Asensio To Manchester United Update

Manchester United’s woes so far this season are due to a lack of consistency in their midfield-attacking link up. A flurry of players have been experimented in the positions by Jose Mourinho to a mixed array of success, none satisfactory.

To add to the dilemma is the apparent ousting of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the squad despite the Armenian initially showing a glimmer of what a traditional central attacking midfielder must do in the United jersey.

However, this dilemma might find an easy solution in the form of one Real Madrid man who has revealed Mourinho’s interest in his services.

As per Diario Gol, Marco Asensio has informed Real Madrid of an offer from Manchester United in the upcoming January window. The report added that in Asensio, Jose might find the perfect breed of player to keep alive some hope in a title race that quickly seems to be going one-way.

The young Spaniard, despite his decisively skillful arsenal, has been used sparingly by Zinedine Zidane so far this season. This comes as much surprise due to the 21-year-old’s performances with Spain’s U-21 side last season.

To add to the saga, it seems that while Zidane wouldn’t mind letting go of him, President Florentino Perez wishes to keep the youngster a part of Los Blancos owing to his scary potential.

If a move does go through, it is undoubted that he will find regular game time at Old Trafford. The precarious position of things has ensured that creativity is the need of the hour for Mourinho’s side, and Asensio could undoubtedly prove to be the quick fix.

Further, unless Madrid holds out for a last-minute screamer of an amount, he could even be a cheaper and potentially more profitable option in the long run when compared to some of the other older and more expensive players of the sort in the market.

It is high time for United to make such a move, and this could very well lead to a grand saga for the month of January.

Deal Agreed: Neymar Reach Agreement To Join Real Madrid In 18 Months

Deal Agreed: Neymar Reach Agreement To Join Real Madrid In 18 Months
PSG's Neymar celebrates.

REUTERS/Benoit Tessier

Paris Saint Germain shattered the world record when they signed Neymar from Barcelona back in the summer.

However, latest sources claim that the world-class forward might exit the Ligue 1 side sooner than expected.

The Brazil international was signed by the French capital for almost £200 million. Regardless, Real Madrid have been in talks with the Parisiens for a plausible move for the decorated figure recently.

WATCH: What If Neymar Joins Real Madrid?

The Spanish side has been in pursuit of forwards owing to the fact that most of their squad members are getting too aged for the pacy counter-attacking football they always adopt.

Zidane, who wishes to implement more speed and driving force into his squad, believes Neymar could provide him with what he yearns for.

Better Than Pogba? Man Utd All Set To Break Club Record To Sign Serie A Superstar

And the latest reports in Spain indicate the Brazilian has already come to an agreement with Real Madrid. The 25-year-old, according to Diario Gol (via Mirror), will spend another 18 months in France before heading back to Spain.

The talented player is favouring a move to Los Blancos in view of the betterment of the chances of winning a Ballon d’Or, which expresses implicitly how desperate he is to bag the honour.

Real President Florentino Perez had conveyed his plans to pursue the signature of top forwards of the French side, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, earlier this week.

“Mbappe is 18 years old, let’s leave him to develop and see how far he can go. We have the best players. Recruit Neymar and wait for Mbappe to develop? That’s not a bad idea!” the influential figure told El Partidazo de COPE.

Regardless, Neymar has his prevailing contract extending up to 2022, which could make it hard for the supporters to envisage the prospects of his return to Spain. Nonetheless, none is as persuasive as Perez when it boils down to negotiations.

Man Utd had to face defeat at home against league leaders Man City on Sunday which has now created an 11-point gap between them.

However, Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho’s worries seem far from over as Eric Bailly is set to miss the remaining of the features this year.

As per a report from the Sun, the 23-year-old has aggravated a serious groin injury which will keep him off the field for at least six weeks.

This will be a blow to the Portuguese manager who will require his full squad to enhance their game in order to turn the tables around.

Player Ratings: Manchester United 1-2 Manchester City

With the former Villarreal player out for the crucial period of Christmas and January, Mourinho would have to reshuffle his centre-backs for the upcoming matches, especially with Phil Jones still recovering from an injury incurred during his international match last month.

Considered one of the Premier League’s top defenders, the Ivorian centre-back was last seen back on November 5 when Chelsea defeated United 1-0.

Bailly, who was scouted by Barcelona’s technical Secretary at the start of the season, has made 10 appearances for the team so far this season.

Premier League Sides Considering Moves For Bundesliga Left-Back

REUTERS/Michael Dalder

Philipp Max has been showcasing remarkable performances in the German league, which is evidently the sound basis for the interest registered by multiple English giants over the past few weeks.

The 24-year-old joined FC Augsburg on a two-year contract with an option to extend the agreement in 2015, for a reported fee of €3.6 million.

Later on, the German savoured the taste of a silver medal as part of Germany’s 2016 Olympic squad and has been dazzling scouts with his exceptional form in the Bundesliga, mostly during this year’s campaign.

In view of his consistency and increasing number of assists, the versatile left-back has been praised for a place in Germany’s World Cup squad.

Provided the fact that he can operate in an even advanced role, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham had marked their interest in the defender.

Jose Mourinho has been pursuing multiple left-backs, and the German could be the apt player to contribute his services to the Old Trafford outfit.

Everton have also assigned scouts to monitor the decorated defender, as Premier League sides consider their options for what is becoming a well-demanded position, according to the Daily Mail

Speculations aside, the player has his current contract extending till 2022, with his value increasing with time. Furthermore, it’s still uncertain whether Max is looking for a transfer as of now. He is seemingly contentful with the football he’s receiving at Augsburg.

Manchester United have offered Vancouver Whitecaps youngster Alphonso Davies a trial, according to reports in The Sun.

The 17-year-old is very highly rated and has been tipped for a bright future, and United appear to be ready to pounce.

The club are said to be waiting on the Whitecaps for a response on whether they will allow him to spend January at the Theatre of Dreams or not.

The Canadian club are believed to be willing to let their starlet have a crack at making it into the academy of one of the world’s best clubs, and could confirm the move soon.

Davies is traditionally a winger, and despite being only 17, he has already been called up to the Canadian national team, where he has managed a quite brilliant record of three goals in six appearances.

His evident potential is displayed further by the fact that he made his debut for the Whitecaps at just 15 years of age.

If he does sign for United, Davies will join up with a number of other fellow rookies whose glowing potentials have been spotted by the club’s scouts.

Tahith Chong, Aliou Traore and Charlie McCann all recently secured moves to Old Trafford, while Eliot Matazo and Lucas Gomes have also been linked to the English giants.

Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo won the fifth Ballon d’Or of his career to go level with arch-rival Lionel Messi. The Portuguese played a pivotal role in Los Blancos’ successful last season, in which they won both Domestic and European silverware.

Ronaldo’s well deserved accolade completed a decade old rivalry between him and Messi, with both having won the award five times apiece.

It was reported by the Mirror that the 32-year-old winger, after his grand triumph, singled out his former club, Manchester United, and “pinpointed the experience of mixing with the likes of Ryan Giggs and Roy Keane as the moment his belief skyrocketed”.

Ronaldo said, “Since I was 14, 15 or 16 years old I knew that I was different from other kids. I did different things. I realized that I was good at Manchester United, when I played with players like Giggs, Keane or Ferdinand. I had talent.

“The English mentality is different and those people helped me a lot to be what I am now. I have to thank my colleagues in Manchester. ”

CR7 also talked about Lionel Messi and stated that he “hoped” their battle continues for a few more years.

“I hope to play at this level for a few more years, I hope the battle with Messi continues, things happen for a reason,” he added.

“I feel good this season and we’ll see what we win at the end of the year. I’m happy at Madrid, I want to stay there, I would like to finish my career at Madrid if possible.”

English U21 International Duncan Watmore’s anterior cruciate ligament injury seems to be an everlasting one as it will keep him out of play for the rest of the season.

The Man Utd academy player suffered a similar injury last season in December while playing against Leicester City in the Premier League. Sadly, he could play only six competitive games before suffering the same injury again.

Chris Coleman, Sunderland manager, expressed his grief in an interview: “This season probably won’t happen for him. Life is frustrating sometimes as he’s desperate to play football and desperate to play for Sunderland.”

“He had surgery today so it’s as we feared and it’ll be another long one for him, but forget me and forget us, he’s a young man with a real good career ahead of him and he’s a good guy who loves his football. He’ll be devastated and we have to take care of him, however long it takes, and he’ll be back I’m sure about that”, the boss further added.

The 23-year-old Sunderland forward received a much-needed boost for his recovery last evening when La Liga giants Real Madrid wrote a letter wishing him a speedy recuperation.

Duncan went to rehab today to find this letter waiting for him. How classy is that from @realmadrid? I now hope they win the Champions League again! pic.twitter.com/0D4rLIw5Wc

Manchester United’s Transfer Budget For January Window Revealed

Manchester United’s Transfer Budget For January Window Revealed
Jose Mourinho with Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward and Sir Bobby Charlton.

Reuters / Lee Smith

When it comes to transfer windows, more and more often it appears that clubs are more inclined towards proving their financial prowess rather than making smart and economical bargains.

As a result, we have windows filled with underrated players going for insanely high sums, and European powerhouses willingly splashing the cash for these individuals.

Now, the amount that Manchester United will be given to invest in the upcoming winter window has been revealed, and it will be one that will raise several eyebrows.

VIDEO: 5 Players United Could Sell In January Transfer Window

According to The Sun, Ed Woodward has assigned £80 million for Jose Mourinho to spend in an effort to better the club’s chances at trumping their neighbors Manchester City to the Premier League title.

The report cited an Old Trafford source to have revealed: “Jose met with some of the clubs top brass including Woodward last week and could have a pretty penny to spend. It sounds like some of the summer budget is being advanced into January.”

It is understood that the positions the Portuguese boss is most eager to fill are those of a left-back, an attacking winger, and a creative no.10 player.

The report also added: “Jose is also looking to get rid of some players. Shaw and Darmian are in the firing line. There’s a few key positions he wants to fill throughout the squad.”

Now, it certainly appears that the Mancunian giants mean business, and will go into the window all guns blazing. However, the stated amount does require some critical thought.

Looking into the inflation that the enormous summer transfers brought into the market, what can United realistically hope to bring for that amount?
