What Happened Between Pogba And Maitland-Niles After Full-Time

What Happened Between Pogba And Maitland-Niles After Full-Time

Reuters/Carl Recine

Wenger’s last trip to Old Trafford saw the Gunners suffer a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Man Utd. Late drama ensured as a lucky header from Fellaini saw the three points go United’s way in added time.

This was a decisive additive to Pogba’s opener which was dulled only by Mkhitaryan scoring against his former club in the second half.

All in all, a decent showing was put on by both sides and Arsenal in particular put in a far better performance than would have been expected of a weakened side that was deprived of the likes of Ozil, Lacazette, and Ramsey amongst others.

Youngsters Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mavropanos were given surprising starts as a result of the resting, and one of them impressed Paul Pogba quite a bit.

What Sanchez Did When He Saw Wenger And His Arsenal Teammates

After the full-time whistle, Pogba was seen hugging the 20-year-old and whispering what can only be appreciation and advice into the ears of the youngster.

The England U-21 international was a brilliant presence in the game and was often an apt midfielder when compared to the seasoned opposition of Pogba, Matic, and Herrera.

Such recognition is a classy gesture from Pogba, who himself has faced criticism and still fresh off his own youth days would know better than anyone else that a fair word can go a long way in building the confidence of a starlet.

Watch Reactions:

Fans too took good notice of his antics and were positive about the performance given, many hailing him as something big just brewing and waiting for a big break.

In fact, Pogba’s act of appreciation was caught quite well by these supporters and was given tremendous acknowledgment.

Now they will be hoping that most of that advice will be acted upon by the youngster and that he will live up to the plethora of expectations heaped upon him over this campaign.

Football is often seen as a life saver to a majority of its fans. It is the one sport that can make people from all over the world unite together as one, irrespective of gender, religion, caste, or creed, and share their love for the beautiful game.

However, Adidas are attempting to take it up a notch and help save not only the lives of millions of people, but also the planet as we know it.

How do they intend to do so? By doing what they do best, and launching another one of their classy, impeccably designed football kits, of course.

WATCH: Players Reaction To Andres Iniesta Departure From Barcelona

There is a lot more to Manchester United’s new leaked third kit than being just another new jersey that players will wear for another 12 months, though.

The stunning navy blue shirt, which includes a golden United badge beside a golden adidas badge, along with the sportswear giant’s traditional three lines running along either side, appears to have a huge part in saving the environment.

Rumours suggest that each replica jersey will be made out of recycled plastic recovered from oceans around the world.

Footy Headlines say this is what Man Utd's third kit will look like next season.

Not only does it look good, it will also be beneficial for the planet as it is made with recycled ocean plastics.

Adidas have partnered with Parley for the Oceans, an organization that aims to raise awareness for the preservation and protection of the oceans, in order to make this jersey possible.

Every shirt manufactured by the German company is also set to feature ‘For The Oceans’, Parley’s slogan, on the inner side of the collar.

Jose Mourinho Reveals Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Plans

Jose Mourinho Reveals Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Plans
Manchester United's Paul Pogba receives instructions from manager Jose Mourinho.

Reuters/Andrew Couldridge

The summer transfer window draws ever closer, and the rest of this season already looks like a formality for Manchester United till the FA Cup final against Chelsea is played.

With Jose Mourinho eager to win that piece of silverware, it is also fair to say that the manager is giving deep thought to how his side will have to be reshuffled going into his third season at Old Trafford.

His most recent remarks go hand in hand with what he has said earlier, stating that the heart of their midfield will be the primary area requiring reinforcements.

As quoted by Manchester Evening News, Jose stated: “We are going to invest the basic to improve our squad. We need to find a replacement for Michael Carrick, if Marouane Fellaini leaves, we need to find a replacement for Marouane Fellaini.”

WATCH: What Neymar Said To Messi About His Next Club

Carrick is all set to join United’s coaching staff once he retires at the end of this season. Fellaini, on the other hand, is apt to leave as well, as another attempt by United to extend his contract has been rejected by the Belgian.

With Juventus, West Ham and even Leicester said to be eager to try and sign the towering midfielder, a departure seems likely and perhaps even assured.

Ousmane Dembele Has Shockingly Picked His Next Club

The boss continued: “Can we improve next season? Let’s try. Can Manchester City keep this level or improve this level? Only they can say. But if they have the team they have and if they are going to invest on top of the team they have of course is going to be very difficult for us.”

This is certainly the plan for now. However, Manchester United also have existing options to look at, as Scott McTominay has already replaced Pogba in midfield when the latter was underperforming.

Mourinho seems to have similar ideas: “So we are going again to touch our squad and to believe that more than spend, spend, spend, is probably the evolution of our players. We have some young players that need to get with both hands opportunities with their evolution, so let’s see.”

The Hilarious Reason Behind Jesse Lingard Rejecting Liverpool Move

Reuters/Lee Smith

Jesse Lingard’s reason to join Manchester United as a child and snub Liverpool will leave you in laughs and startled as it seems.

The player back during his childhood days trained with both the iconic clubs and he decided to join the red half of Manchester rather than Anfield.

Back during that time, Lingard’s grandfather used to drive him to the training and Lingard shared the true reason  of joining United after an incident that occurred in Liverpool.

In an interview with Sportsmail, Lingard revealed that he did not receive a pass from a fellow player during his time at the  club and that was it.

“One day I was at Liverpool and someone didn’t pass the ball to me and I thought, ‘I can’t be doing this,'” the United attacking midfielder said.

The in-form player also added what happened post that. “I walked out and said to my grandad, ‘Let’s stay at United instead’. I swear that was the reason.”

What McTominay Said To ‘Captain’ Valencia Is Just Brilliant

Well now that silly reason back then has resulted in United’s gain and Liverpool’s loss. The versatile player has gone on to earn a name and reputation at Old Trafford and is one of the most talented academy players to have come into the first team.

He has taken his chance well and has been a regular feature for Jose Mourinho. The player was always a special character as he grew and was truly admired for his role in the 2010/11 FA Youth Cup. His first professional contract at the club happened in 2011.

Loan spells in the Championship helped Lingard as he was given a break by former manager Louis van Gaal. He has truly become an integral part of the team since three seasons now and has amassed 24 goals in 127 appearances. He has won the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League with the Red Devils.

Potential Lineups: Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

REUTERS/Eddie Keogh

The day dawns closer, and Jose Mourinho will be a man in worry. After a campaign that, despite stellar spending, has only been slightly better in terms of Premier League points to boast of, Manchester United will be eager to lift one piece of silverware.

The FA Cup is United’s sole route to that feat at the moment, and Tottenham is the team that stands in their way during the semi-finals. Needless to say, a strong battle will be put up by both sides, and only the technically superior and less-fatigued team will be capable of making the cut to Wembley one more time.

Here are how both sides are likely to lineup going into the game:

Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has a selection dilemma at hand, and as of now, has only confirmed that Matic will be a sure start for the game. However, the 2-0 victory against Bournemouth is bound to have cleared his options as to whom to play and whom to bench, if chosen at all, for the crucial encounter.

Romero is still definitively out of the game, which means De Gea will be assured a start. Meanwhile, the antics of Pogba and Herrera against Bournemouth are bound to redeem their dreadful showing against West Brom, and as of such, ought to be worthy for a start, if for nothing else then to keep up the 4-3-3 shape.

7 Things That Will Happen If Anthony Martial Leaves Manchester United

Martial, though, will likely be benched, with Sanchez having been rested during the Premier League game. Lingard’s Wembley luck might garner him a start as well.

Goalkeeper: De Gea
Defenders: Valencia, Bailly, Smalling, Young
Midfielders: Herrera, Matic, Pogba
Forwards: Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez

Formation: 4-3-3

Tottenham

Akin to United, Pochettino’s lads also have no silverware to boast of, and will be eager to bag the Cup. While their Premier League showing has been decent and now seems likely to secure them a 4th place finish, a Cup win will be bound to round up their campaign quite well.

Danny Rose might be doubtful for the game due to match-fitness issues. Meanwhile, Dembele might get the pick over Sissoko for the game. Similarly, Lamela is likely to replace Lucas Moura, as the former was rested for the Premier League encounter.

No other major injury concern afflicts Spurs apart from Winks and Walker-Peters.

Goalkeeper: Lloris
Defenders: Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies
Midfielders: Dier, Dembele, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen
Striker: Kane

Formation: 4-2-3-1

After conquering the grounds of Europe and managing to win the hearts of an entire generation of earnest spectators of the great game, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has moved to the United States of America, and now plays football in the MLS under LA Galaxy.

The Swede was quick to make his mark in his debut itself, where his brace memorably won Galaxy the game. The first one was arguably one of the finest goals that the former Barcelona, PSG, and Man United striker has managed to score.

Embracing the celebrity status that he enjoys around the globe, he was part of Jimmy Kimmel’s popular late-night talk show, and as Zlatan does, he managed to shine even there.

During the course of their banter, the traditional dilemma of fans on the other side of the world came into play when Kimmel brought up the fact that football is called ‘soccer’ in America, and how it isn’t exactly their most beloved sport.

WATCH: What Angry Morata Did After Conte Subbed Him

“You’re not from here, you have to understand it’s very unusual to get this kind of enthusiasm for anything related to soccer. For the most part here soccer is a game we wish our kids didn’t play so we didn’t have go to it on the weekends,” said the host, Jimmy Kimmel.

Ibrahimovic wasn’t one to keep quiet at that, and replied: “First of all soccer – football, we call it in Europe.”

Kimmel was adamant when he added: “We call it soccer, get used to it!”

But the Swede continued in typical Zlatan fashion: “So we call it football. And football is the biggest sport in the world. So imagine now when you play football and you’re on the top, how you feel.”

The moment was one of many interesting ones over the course of the interview, where Zlatan’s many nicknames were also brought up, and where the striker reckoned it was his confidence that made the difference, and that he would have excelled at any sport.

What Happened Between Pogba And Mourinho After He Was Substituted vs Bournemouth

What Happened Between Pogba And Mourinho After He Was Substituted vs Bournemouth

Reuters/John Sibley

Paul Pogba ignoring Jose Mourinho post his substitution in the 2-0 win against Bournemouth will add to further speculation about his rocky relationship with the Portuguese.

Pogba helped Manchester United get the second goal after feeding Romelu Lukaku, who came in as a second half substitute to score the winner.

The Frenchman was replaced by Daley Blind in the 80th minute, and the player, while approaching the bench, avoided any contact with the manager, and did not even shake his hand or show any gesture.

Photos reveal that the former Juventus midfielder shook hands with Rai Fario and Michael Carrick, two of the coaches sitting beside Jose, but chose to ignore the former Real Madrid manager. He then went straight to the tunnel before making a return to the bench.

Watch Best Reactions:

Earlier, reports stated that the player was involved in a bust-up with Jose during the half-time against rivals City last week. Tempers were said to be flaring between the two individuals.

Player Ratings: Bournemouth 0-2 Manchester United

The France international did change his level in the second half, and his brace helped the Red Devils stage a comeback and win the derby 3-2.

But Pogba’s performance was once again poor against the Baggies, who inflicted the home team with a 1-0 loss at Old Trafford. Pogba lasted 58 minutes in that match.

Real Madrid are said to be monitoring his situation, and are said to be waiting on the wings to lure the ex-Juventus man to Spain. Both individuals will need to grow over from the supposed crack in the relationship, and the only way it can be achieved is with Pogba being consistent.

After stunning the world with an absolutely insane overhead goal against Juventus in the Champions League and scoring a sumptuous volley in the Madrid derby, Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has now produced a ‘brilliant’ gesture off the field as well.

CR7 is well known for producing pieces of magic while on the pitch, but this time, he has amazed one of his former club’s upcoming stars by showcasing his generosity behind the scenes.

The Portuguese star has gifted young striker, Marcus Rashford, a new pair of red Nike Air Max 97 CR7 shoes.

Rashford thanked the five-time Ballon d’Or winner by uploading a picture of the red boots on his Instagram handle, along with the caption: “Thanks for the gift @cristiano.”

Ronaldo, who has collaborated with Nike to produce the striking £145 shoes, may not have bonded with the 20-year-old during his time at Old Trafford, but the Galactico certainly didn’t hesitate to send a pair in order to boost Rashford’s confidence.
