OFFICIAL: Real Madrid Announce The Signing Of A New Goalkeeper
After months and weeks of speculation wherein Real Madrid were linked to a wide assortment of talented shot-stoppers, the most notable being Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and Manchester United’s David De Gea, the Spanish giants have finally unveiled their new goalkeeper.
19-year-old Ukrainian international Andriy Lunin was signed on by the club from FC Zorya Luhansk on a 6-year-long deal, and was unveiled on Monday when he penned his contract.
Club president Florentino Perez had this to say about the signing during the press-conference: “Little by little, we are laying the new foundations of the present and the future.
“We want to incorporate young talents that will mark football of the next years. They aspire to the maximum wearing this shirt and this shield. Lunin is a player who shares those ambitions. Many clubs wanted him but I knew where he wanted to be.”

Lunin himself expressed his delight by stating: “I’m thrilled to be here. It’s the best club in the world and it’s a real honour to be part of Real Madrid. I’m very happy.”

He added: “I chose Real Madrid because winning is the most important element of sport and like any other sporting professional, I want to win and keep winning. Right now I’m training with the team and I’m very happy.
“Of the Real Madrid goalkeepers, Iker Casillas was one that I learned an awful lot from as a kid and I followed his matches & his development closely.”
Madrid are still linked with signing Courtois, and it will be interesting to see how the arrival of the Ukrainian teenager will affect their potential plans.
It appears that the European Champions are eager to build on a squad that has seen quite a few surprises over the past months, from the resignation of Zidane to the sale of Ronaldo. Do bigger deals await?

Neymar’s Reaction On Cristiano Ronaldo Joining Juventus This Summer
PSG star Neymar believes the Serie A will be a league to watch once again after Cristiano Ronaldo’s move.
Juventus have pulled off one of the best transfers for this summer. Real Madrid and Ronaldo weren’t on good terms, as the latter once again demanded higher wages for the third consecutive summer – demands which weren’t met by Florentino Perez.
Manchester United seemed to be the most likely destination for the Portuguese star, but Jose Mourinho passed on the opportunity.
The Bianconeri then swooped in and sealed the deal for a reported fee of €112 million, and more than half of this amount has already been recovered by Juve through Ronaldo’s jersey sale.
Multiple reports suggested that Neymar could be the one to fill Ronaldo’s boots at Real Madrid. But this week, the 26-year-old squashed the rumours and hopes, by stating: “Everyone knows my objective, why I went to Paris. I want to have success with that club and I hope next season could be wonderful.”
Ronaldo’s move to Juventus shocked a number of football fans, as they expected him to retire at the Bernabeu. Neymar also had his say on this switch, stating how the 33-year-old will revolutionize Italian football and make it worth watching again.

This Is Why Paul Pogba Wants To Return To Juventus
“I think Cristiano Ronaldo will change Italian football,” said the Brazilian. “It will again be the Italian football that I watched when I was a child because Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player.”
The former Barcelona forward is known to be a huge fan of Cristiano. Neymar further revealed that he was happy that the Portuguese star decided to join Juventus and wished him luck, but not when he plays against Paris Saint-Germain.
“He is a legend in football, a genius. I’m happy for his decision. I think it is a difficult decision for him so I wish him good luck, but not against Paris,” the 26-year-old added.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid continue to search for a Galactico signing who could replace Ronaldo this summer. Reports suggested that Neymar, Eden Hazard, and Kylian Mbappe were on the shortlist.
But with the former now dropping off the radar, Hazard seems to be the likeliest candidate to join Los Blancos. World Cup Golden Boy Mbappe is a possibility, although he did join PSG on a permanent deal only recently.

5 Players Manchester United Need To Win The League Next Season
The Premier League is less than a month away from kicking off its brand new season, and clubs will be rushing helter-skelter in wrapping up those deals that they have been pursuing for a while now.
In addition, new hopes may also spring up in the minds of the top 6 teams as to individuals that can perhaps give them an added kick in making a charge towards the title.
Manchester United are certainly one such team, and despite having made decent strides already with regard to players bought, their roster still looks uncertain to rival that of Manchester City to the title.
As of such, here are 5 players that the Red Devils will need to buy in order to win the league in the upcoming season:
Gareth Bale
A name whose effectiveness is a given at this point, and who will assuredly provide United with that added danger that they lack up front. In addition to being a world-class presence, the Welshman is a player that Mourinho adores and has been pursuing for some time now.
His future at Real Madrid was uncertain to begin with in the first place, but the resignation of Zidane and the arrival of Lopetegui has removed the urgency from the saga. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old may still be open to a move to Old Trafford, and Ed Woodward is believed to be keen on the deal as well. Does hope still exist?
Alex Sandro
Another name that Manchester United fans have been desperate for this window. While the deal reportedly broke down at the start due to the valuation for the Brazilian which Juventus put forward, recent reports have rejuvenated the saga.
Latest updates suggest that Mourinho still wants the highly rated left-back, but now faces stiff competition from PSG for his signing. That the 27-year-old would be a welcome addition to a flank-line occupied by Ashley Young and Luke Shaw is of no doubt, but will the wish be fulfilled?
Leonardo Bonucci
With their centre-back pursuit of Toby Alderweireld yet to bear fruit, United may be happy to see hope spring up elsewhere. Calciomercato reports that Leonardo Bonucci has demanded an exit from AC Milan, which has been duly accepted, and he may allegedly be on the transfer market.
In Bonucci, United will find a seasoned defender that fulfills their need for a leader at the back, and at 31 years of age, along with the experience from Juventus and AC Milan, the Italian could bring tremendous punch.
Here too, United face PSG as a potential suitor to pry Bonucci away, although the Red Devils may still pursue this deal strongly, as he will certainly prove to be a cheaper option.
Mateo Kovacic
With the arrival of Fred and the extension of Fellaini’s contract, surely Manchester United already have an apt midfield trio in the form of Pogba, Fred, and Matic, with the Belgian in tow as an impact sub. However, a backup plan could also be put in place, and the source of this talent could be Real Madrid’s Kovacic.
With reports coming in stating that Manchester City have been discouraged from signing the 24-year-old Croatian after the £80 million price-tag Real have quoted for him, United could jump back into the picture and pursue his services. The player himself isn’t all too happy with the lack of game-time at Madrid.
If signed, Pogba could play in a more forward role, but it will still be interesting to see how Mourinho would utilize the player in view of his sizable price tag.
Mario Mandzukic
After a World Cup that was lit quite well by the Croatian, falling just short of the biggest prize, this link that was initially faint may now show some proper hope at last. The 32-year-old has been functioning well at Juventus, and should Higuain be sold, his fortune even there could shine and see him play more often.
However, the Mancunian giants are more eager to sign him as an apt replacement for Romelu Lukaku who, despite being brilliant last season, was a player that United were too reliant on, and a brief spell of injury outlined how important he was to the squad.

Jose Mourinho Absolutely Destroys Raheem Sterling
England’s World Cup was a surprise, to say the least. While most pundits had dismissed the side of ever having a hope in the tournament, the Englishmen managed to make it to the semi-finals, after all, only to be schooled quite well by Croatia.
Different perspectives tell a different tale about the month in Russia, some rendering it as a successful outing while others dismissing it as an easy attempt at football ‘coming home’ being thrown away in vain.
However, it is the feedback that the players have received that is interesting, to say the least.
One, in particular, is bound to grab attention, as it involves Jose Mourinho criticizing Raheem Sterling, who plays for Manchester City, the bitter rivals of Manchester United.

Speaking as a pundit to RT about England’s starting lineup in the third-place play-off against Belgium, Mourinho stated: “I was a little bit surprised that Sterling was in the team. He did not have a good World Cup.” While it is tempting to call bias, few can disagree with the Special One, particularly because Sterling’s woes were quite obvious in the matches leading up to the semi-final.

Jose added: “He didn’t have a good enough World Cup to be chosen for a match ahead of [Jamie] Vardy, [Danny] Welbeck, [Marcus] Rashford – people with probably better condition from a physical and psychological point of view.”
Gareth Southgate seemed to agree too late, as the third-place play-off saw Sterling being substituted for Marcus Rashford, which did little to change the 2-0 outcome in favor of Belgium.

The gaffer too, didn’t escape Mourinho’s criticism, once more for his lineup during the Belgium game: “I think also for a second goalkeeper to feel I didn’t even play in the third match of the group phase, I’m not playing in the third vs fourth match, when can I play. I think it’s quite frustrating for a guy like Butland or Pope.”
Wise words from Mourinho. Let’s see if the World Cup will have an impact in the manner in which his lads at Old Trafford function in the upcoming season.

Manchester United In ‘Advanced Talks’ For Croatian World Cup Star
Manchester United are looking to complete a move for Ivan Perisic this summer.
The Red Devils have been one of the most active parties in this transfer window. Jose Mourinho has already brought in three players – Fred, Diogo Dalot, and Lee Grant, but none of them seem to be an upgrade to the existing players.
United have also found it difficult to lure in better players, as the big names have been representing their nations in Russia. But with the World Cup set to end this Sunday, a lot of activity is expected at Old Trafford.
According to reports, Manchester United are already in advanced talks with Inter over a possible move for Ivan Perisic.

The Croatian’s performance in the semi-final against England ensured his nation’s first chance at winning the title this summer. But this isn’t the first time that United are being linked with Perisic, as last summer, it seemed like the player was all set to arrive at Old Trafford.

Multiple reports suggested that he had signed personal terms with the club. But eventually, the move broke down, and Inter convinced Perisic to sign a new contract.
Now, Perisic’s counsel, Fali Ramadani and Pini Zahavi, are said to have booked a flight to Manchester, as they look to close terms before the 29-year-old plays the final against France.
With the transfer window closing early this summer, Ed Woodward wants to ensure that the formalities are completed early, and has therefore asked the representatives to come down.

Mourinho was left pretty impressed with Perisic’s performance against England. The United boss is currently working as a pundit for Russia Today, and here is what The Sun quoted him saying after the match:
“Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others. Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative but he is also physical, very physical, fantastic in the air.”

What Jose Mourinho Had To Say About Paul Pogba’s Performance Against Belgium
France emerged victorious in an interesting match against Belgium, where a 1-0 scoreline was the difference between the European giants.
One of the two spots for the World Cup final was booked by the Frenchmen courtesy of a well-found Samuel Umtiti header, but it wasn’t at all reflective of the manner in which Belgium dominated the game.
However, the final score was what mattered at the end, and much praise was showered upon the lads from France. One source of laurels, in particular, came through Jose Mourinho, who had positive things to say about Paul Pogba.
Speaking after the full time to RT (via Metro), the Manchester United gaffer stated the following about France:
“They tried to control the game which they did with a fantastic performance by Varane and a very good performance by Pogba. Pogba was mature he played with great maturity. When he had to hold position and to keep control of the game he did.”

His analysis continued: “When Deschamps took off Giroud to bring on Nzonzi then Pogba had more freedom but freedom not to do silly things. Freedom to keep the ball away from the dangerous areas. To keep the ball, to assist Griezmann for a great chance. He was very, very mature.”
At the end of the day, the Portuguese gaffer too agreed with the unfairness of the outcome, and revealed how he had seen this coming: “In the end I think the result was 1-0 but it could be 0-0 or it could be 1-1 and we could have been waiting for extra time.

“But since the beginning I was smelling this. I was smelling a match without many goals that was good by the emotion that involves a semi-final but it was not an especially good football match.”
All that Manchester United fans will now be hoping for is that Mourinho has been taking notes, and will apply the same to his lads when the Red Devils return to action next season.

Gianluigi Buffon Finally Unveils His New Club
Gianluigi Buffon has completed his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Buffon announced his emotional departure from Juventus towards the end of last season. During his 17-year stint, the Italian maestro made 656 appearances for the Old Lady, winning almost everything except the Champions League.
Buffon is well respected amongst the fans mainly because he stayed with the club after they were relegated to the Serie B following a betting scandal.
There were reports that the Italian was offered an off-field job at Juventus, but the goalkeeper did not intend to stop playing just yet.

On Friday, Buffon was unveiled by Paris Saint-Germain in some fashion. The nine-time Serie A champion signed a one-year deal with the Parisian outfit, with an option to extend for a further year.

“For the first time in my career, I am leaving my country and only a project this ambitious could have encouraged me to make such a decision.”
The Italian goalkeeper would have loved to complete his trophy-set at Juventus last season, but Real Madrid spoiled the party in the UCL quarter-finals.
Moreover, Italy had to cancel their tickets to Russia as well, as Sweden knocked them during the last stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
Buffon’s arrival at PSG will cast a shadow on Kevin Trapp’s future at the club. First choice Alphonse Areola will be facing some competition from the 40-year-old, but will also get to learn a lot from the legend.
