Sky Sport Journalist Gives Update On Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

REUTERS/Max Rossi

Jose Mourinho’s Man Utd are looking to strengthen their midfield in the summer, and after being touted to land Fred, they also feel that Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could be another viable addition.

With Marouane Fellaini’s future under the clouds and Michael Carrick retiring, United are in the market to get classy midfielders, and they are willing to go the distance to land Savic.

The player is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the world at the moment and getting him alongside Fred will be a superb deal.

According to an update from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Mancunian club made an inquiry for Savic some days ago.

WATCH: 7 Things to Know About Fred

But he also added that United haven’t made an official bid, but are monitoring the situation. Lazio is believed to be asking a hefty sum for the 23-year-old.

This shows that the club could be landing Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred first and then have negotiations with Lazio for Savic.

With several other top clubs said to be keeping an eye on the player, United will have to act swiftly, before Lazio agrees a deal elsewhere provided they receive a bid.

Savic is said to have a skill-set that suits Mourinho’s style of play. His dribbling and passing skills are proven to be world-class, and a defensive awareness coupled with an ability to create spaces up-front will mean that he will be an all-round positive addition to a squad that has often seemed wanting for creativity in the past.

Premier League Giants Want To Sign Anthony Martial For Their Next Manager

Chelsea have reportedly prepared a transfer shortlist for Antonio Conte’s successor.

The Italian tactician looks set to part ways with the London club following Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United, irrespective of the result at Wembley.

Meanwhile, the Blues have already identified Conte’s potential replacements, with the likes of Luis Enrique, Maurizio Sarri, and Mauricio Pochettino being some of the top candidates on their radar.

As per Daily Mail, however, there is a growing worry at the Stamford Bridge outfit that they might miss out on signing top players amid the uncertainty of who will end up becoming the next Chelsea manager.

WATCH: 7 Things That Will Happen If Neymar Joins United

Therefore, the club has prepared a shortlist of players to present Conte’s replacement, so as to act swiftly and finalise the transfers as soon as the go-ahead from the new boss is received.

RELATED:

5 Reasons Why Anthony Martial Should Stay At Manchester United

Two players occupy this shortlist at present, the first being Nice star Jean Michael Seri. The impressive box-to-box midfielder has attracted interest from Arsenal as well, but Chelsea seem to have already opened discussions with the 26-year-old’s representatives.

The second player on the list is, surprisingly, Manchester United starlet Anthony Martial. The out-of-favour winger has found game-time hard to come by under Jose Mourinho, and Chelsea look set to take full advantage of the situation and sign the Frenchman.

Along with Conte, several former managers have expressed their discomfort with the Chelsea board’s massive involvement in transfers. But as evident from this report, the top officials at the club hardly intend to put a stop to it anytime soon.

Ander Herrera Names The Best Player In The Premier League

Ander Herrera Names The Best Player In The Premier League

Ander Herrera has recently surprisingly labelled Chelsea’s Eden Hazard as the best player in the Premier League.

The Manchester United midfielder made the assertion with just a couple of days to go for the widely anticipated FA Cup finals to kick-off. The Mancunians is currently preparing themselves to square off their horns with the Blues at Wembley on Saturday.

Disregarding the fact that Mohamed Salah stole the spotlight after seeing that he was crowned PFA Player of the Year and being awarded the English League’s golden boot with his 32-goal campaign, Herrera believes Hazard should certainly be considered as the best player in England.

“For me, Hazard is the best player in the league,” the United midfielder said on The Big Interview with Graham Hunter.

“In my opinion, he’s the best player in the league, I’ve said that since my first day here.”

As regards to the best goalkeeper, the Spaniard had his eyes on the very same player any Premier League supporters would have; David De Gea. He accordingly proclaimed that his teammate is easily the best goalkeeper in the football world.

Mo Salah Reveals What Mourinho Told Him After He Joined Liverpool

“For me, David is the best by far,” said Herrera. “I think he has something that comes from God. God chose him in the goal and God chose Messi on the pitch.

“You cannot train what he did against Liverpool [at Anfield]. You cannot train what he did against Kun Aguero when he was two metres in front of him and he put the hand out, you cannot train it.

“You can train when he receives the ball from the left defender and he passes the ball to Antonio Valencia perfect. You can see when he receives the ball he knows always what to do.

“He has some special abilities that I think he hasn’t trained them because you cannot train them, you just have them.”

Man Utd Will Have To Spend Upto €70m To Sign David De Gea Replacement

Reuters / Hannah McKay

Undeniably, David De Gea has been Man Utd’s most significant player who strictly performed consistently, saving the team with pure dexterity.

Jose Mourinho has been proclaiming numerous things, however, one of them is seemingly a resolute decision; the talented goalkeeper is not for sale.

The skilful stopper is now too vital for the well functioning of their play and losing him would undoubtedly deliver them quite a blow.

Nevertheless, Sportwitness reports that if Gazzetta Dello Sport is to be believed, the Red Devils are monitoring the situations of other goalkeepers and particularly AS Roma’s Alisson.

WATCH: 5 Players Man Utd Could Sign In Summer

Although the Italian club is not exactly inclined to letting go of the club’s new star, the Brazil international has enticed interest from various household names including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

RELATED NEWS:

Latest: Milinkovic-Savic’s Transfer To Manchester United A Done Deal

The report also states that the Serie A club aren’t specifically desperate for cash as they once were, having reached the Champions League semi-finals this year.

Accordingly, they have no intention of selling the talented stopper over the upcoming summer window.

Further, the 25-year-old’s price tag reportedly revolves around €70m which would make him the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.

Possessing one of the most massive financial chambers, Mourinho could pull off a move for the instrumental figure if he’s determined to get a keeper. The odds of De Gea leaving Old Trafford is natheless seriously low, so even if Alisson gets roped in to Man Utd, it’d probably be as a rotation player.
